The launch sits on private land grazed by a shepherd's flock, and the shepherd does not tolerate people on his land — this is not a site to wander onto casually, and staying strictly to the accepted access route is essential. Flying over the livestock is explicitly forbidden, both as a courtesy to the shepherd and to avoid spooking the animals. A separate seasonal rule governs the beach below: landing there is prohibited from 1 April to 31 October, covering the entire main flying season, so pilots need an alternative landing plan for most of the year rather than relying on the beach.
