Where it is
Tuili sits on Sardinia's Sa Jara plateau, a south-facing launch prized locally for the regularity of its thermic and thermodynamic conditions — pilots here call it their favorite site on the island for exactly that reliability. The plateau itself stretches about 10 km with a gentle 200 m of relief, mostly given over to wheat fields, and the usual flying window is a moderate 15–25 km/h from south, southeast or southwest, enough to work steady thermals for the long round trip out to Albajara. Take-off is easy and south-facing, with a 250 m drop to the wide landing fields directly below. The launch itself is compact — parking sits about 500 m before the top of the plateau, and there's only room for one glider to take off at a time, so drivers need to park considerately and leave space for buses and other cars. It's a popular weekend meeting point for local pilots.
Launch & conditions
Easy, south-facing take-off with only enough room for one glider to launch at a time; the landing fields lie a 250 m descent directly below.
Getting there & local rules
From Tuili village, follow the signs for the 'Jara' plateau; just beyond the village the road crosses a small bridge and continues to the plateau top. Parking is about 500 m before the summit — leave space for buses and other cars.
Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Tuili, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Tuili with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
