Where it is

Hohe Munde Startplatz 1 is an Austrian launch above the Inntal valley at about 1,539 m, facing east through southeast to south. Pilots who love walk-and-fly have an extra option here too: it's possible to launch from the summit area of the Hohe Munde itself for a longer, more committing day. The main launch, a natural site south of the Rauthhütte, is notably flat — flat enough that it's only launchable with sufficient headwind, so don't count on getting off the ground in weak or crosswind conditions. Airspace restrictions apply in this area, so check them before you fly rather than assuming open sky. Landing is at a large field in Telfs, easy to spot even from the highway, which makes the retrieve straightforward once you're down.
