Zwölferhorn

Zwölferhorn is a mountain flying area above St. Gilgen in the Salzkammergut region of Austria, at about 1,496 m, notable for working across nearly every wind direction — north, northeast, east, southeast, west and northwest — which makes it flyable far more often than most mountain sites. The main launch sits about 50 m above the gondola's upper station, and a second takeoff, known as Jagafleck, is available at around 1,365 m for pilots who want an alternative. A gondola from St. Gilgen reaches the mountain, so the approach doesn't require a hike. Landing is in a large meadow with a slight downslope — worth anticipating on the approach rather than discovering on touchdown.
