Where it is
High Perspective sits on a broad flat farm field north-east of Toronto, in the ridge-less country of southern Ontario. It's primarily a hang-gliding training, tandem and towing operation, but paragliders get towed too when conditions line up, and beginner paraglider training is offered for pilots who bring their own equipment. Launches happen from one of the corners of the tow field (marked A–D) depending on the wind; a trailer-mounted tow with trained operators runs the winch line. The field is very large, mowed grass, fairly flat, with crop fields and roads around — plenty of open landing on a bad day.
Launch & conditions
Trailer-mounted winch tow operated by trained staff, with step-tow capability across the very large flat field. Launch corner (A, B, C or D) is chosen for wind direction. The tow line is razor sharp — take great care walking across any part of the field, and never touch a live line.
Getting there & local rules
1150 Highway 7, two kilometres west of Brock Road (first farm west of sideline 22 or east of 24). From Toronto: north to the 401 East, then Brock Road north to Hwy 7 West (NOT Hwy 7 East, one stoplight south). Park in the designated area beside the office/clubhouse and check in with a staff member on arrival.
Local rules & hazards
Pilots wishing to fly above 700 ft at this site must have taken and passed the Transport Canada HAGAR exam. Ontario summers bring thunderstorm risk — call ahead when the forecast is unstable.
Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to High Perspective Tow, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open High Perspective Tow with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
