Where it is
Teston Road in Vaughan, north of Toronto, is an artificial west-facing hill — a construction-waste landfill about 25 m high and 300 m long, used opportunistically by local pilots when nothing better is on. The top ridge is long, narrow and, uncomfortably, full of broken glass and metal rebar sticking up from the fill, and the ground and wind pick up a fine cement-and-gypsum dust that will destroy fabric if it gets into your wing. It is city-owned land signed no-trespassing, so this is an at-your-own-risk site with real access and safety issues. Because it's a small elliptical hill, rotor is very likely; because it's inside Toronto Pearson's glide path, the ceiling is around 1,500 ft AGL. Consider Sundays only, when the nearby warehouse and concrete-casting operations are quiet.
Launch & conditions
West-facing top of an artificial 25 m × 300 m fill hill. High rotor risk because it's a small elliptical rise; the top of the ridge is narrow and littered with broken glass and metal rebar.
Getting there & local rules
2066–2108 Teston Road, Vaughan (just north of the Teston/Rodinea intersection). Park outside — the gate is closed on weekends — and walk in from the side.
Local rules & hazards
The site is inside Toronto Pearson's glide path — cap altitude at roughly 1,500 ft AGL; do not thermal above that. Ground hazards are real: broken glass, exposed rebar and cement/gypsum dust that ruins fabric if it enters the wing. Site is signed no-trespassing (city property) — treat as at-your-own-risk. Use Sundays only to avoid the nearby industrial traffic.
