Where it is
Engelberg – Titlis launches at 2,543 m above the Engelberg valley in central Switzerland, reached by gondola, and offers big terrain with plenty of options for a safe landing across the whole valley floor. The one hazard worth taking seriously before flying here is cables: the entire Engelbergertal has numerous power lines that are unmarked and hard to spot from the air, often strung in places you would not expect one, so checking current info at the gondola stations or asking local pilots before your first flight matters more here than at most sites. Föhn effects are a real factor in this part of the Alps too. Landing location shifts with the season — the official spot is on the north side of the Engelberg monastery in winter and moves to the east side in summer, both marked with a windsock — but if you land elsewhere in the many open fields around the valley, avoid crops and tall grass and respect the vegetation.
