Petit Combin

Petit Combin is a high alpine launch at roughly 3,640 metres above Verbier, Switzerland, and one of the more serious sites in the region — this is glacier and high-mountain terrain, not a casual walk-up. Reaching it on foot requires real mountaineering experience, not just fitness; the alternative is a helicopter flight up from Verbier–Croix de Coeur for pilots who arrange that in advance. The launch is flyable from the southeast, south or southwest, giving some flexibility once you're actually up there. Given the altitude and the terrain involved in reaching it, Petit Combin is not a site for pilots without solid mountain experience — the approach itself carries real risk independent of the flying. For the right pilot, though, it's a serious high-alpine objective near Verbier that rewards both the mountaineering effort and careful weather judgement at extreme altitude, where conditions can change fast.
