Riederalp/ Greicheralp

Riederalp/Greicheralp, in the Swiss Alps near Fiesch, launches from about 1,880 m on wind from south-east to south and is a thermal and cross-country site that's mostly flown in spring, when the Fiesch-Kühboden gondola runs on a reduced schedule for maintenance. Access is by cable car from Mörel to Riederalp, followed by a short walk to launch. Take-off is a nice grassy meadow with its own windsock, just a few minutes from the cable car terminus, and the reliable house thermal sits to the left of launch, beyond the cable car's last mast. As with any Swiss site, the local airspace is complex enough to research thoroughly before flying rather than assume it's clear.
