Am Deister

Am Deister is a flatland winch and slope-tow site in Germany at just 132 m, flown by both hang glider and paraglider pilots on east or west winds. One nice detail: a launch trolley (Startwagen) is available, which makes for safe, comfortable tow starts even in light wind — useful on days when a foot-launch winch start would be marginal. The one hard local rule is about vehicle access: driving onto the site itself is reserved for club members, so non-members need to park outside and respect the posted no-entry signs rather than driving in. Beyond that, it's a straightforward low-altitude tow site, the kind of place flatland pilots build winch-launch hours and cross-country mileage without needing a hill at all.
