Auerbach Süd

Auerbach Süd is a winch-tow flatland site in Bavaria, Germany, at about 460 m, favorable with wind from the east or west. From April onward, tow operations typically run on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, giving it a fairly predictable weekly schedule for pilots planning a visit. Access is restricted to pilots who already hold at least the basic pilot license — this is not a site offering ground or altitude flight training. A federal road runs close to the site and shapes several of the operating rules: tows are not carried out when the wind is from the south, a minimum distance of 50 m from the road must always be maintained, and the road must never be overflown on landing approach, where a minimum altitude of 100 m applies.
