Aying – Startrichtung West

Aying's west-facing tow strip, at around 603 m, is one of two launch directions run at this flatland site near Munich — this one for southwest or west wind. Winch operations only start once the strip is confirmed clear: any farm vehicles, cyclists or walkers on the line mean the tow gets interrupted rather than run around. The surrounding land is genuinely shared ground — horse paddocks border the strip, so pilots keep clear distance if horses are in the neighboring pasture, and courtesy toward walkers, riders and the local farming community is part of using the site at all. A nearby railway line needs a 50 m clearance, horizontally and vertically. The municipality caps flying here at 20 days a year under its own permit, and there's a model-aircraft field south of Peiß that needs at least 300 m of clearance overhead. Parking is restricted to public areas in the village — not on the access track itself.
