Dernbach Süd Übungshang Start

Dernbach's south training slope is the sister hill to the north-facing one just up the road — a compact 31 m drop used for the same school-coordinated instruction. Southeast through southwest winds work it, and the safety rules are shared across both slopes: launches only once a student has turning flight under control, no launching into crosswind or into lee off the slope opposite, and a clear field track below before anyone goes — free of cyclists, tractors and anyone else passing through. The meadows around both hangs are managed under nature-conservation rules, cut at most twice a year with mowing banned across part of the summer, and a group of tall fruit trees planted on the school's land is maintained long-term as part of that agreement. As with its northern twin, this is a teaching hill, not a site for unsupervised flying.
