Orensberg

Orensberg is a members-only launch in the Palatinate, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at about 547 m, flying west wind — there's no guest flying at all here. Every pilot needs a briefing from the site holder before flying, and launches only happen in a clear, unambiguous headwind or dead calm. The main landing field at Dernbach/Weilacher requires its own separate briefing covering the approach, road-overflight height and power-line clearance, since the landing pattern has to avoid conflicting with landings from a nearby flight school using the original main field. Pilots must clear the L506 road below by at least 50 m, both vertically and to the sides, and a protected wet-meadow section at the field's southern end — including the site's characteristic hump meadows — is completely off-limits for landing. There's a second landing option, Dernbacher Haus, but it's reserved for experienced pilots only and needs its own additional briefing.
