Where it is

winchFlatland XC

Flutmulde is a flatland winch-tow site in Lower Bavaria, working in both north and south wind — though as of February 2026 the site is not currently in active use, so check current status before planning a visit. When operating, tow paths need to be secured with suitable means before every launch, since access tracks cross the strip. The Siebensee water protection area sits directly along the southern edge of the tow strip, and the flying area must never extend into it. There's also a planned compensation area for a local development project to the northeast, which the tow strip has to stay clear of. Airspace here is genuinely tight: the site sits beneath Landshut's controlled airspace "C" at 4,500 ft, which drops to 3,500 ft just 4 km to the south, so altitude limits matter.

Check conditions before you fly

A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Flutmulde, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Flutmulde with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
