Oberweiler / Weilerkopf / Odernheim

Oberweiler / Weilerkopf / Odernheim is a west/northwest-facing launch at 300 m in Germany. The standout local rule here is about wildlife: pilots are asked by the site manager to fly as high as possible over the mixed deciduous forest below, which is breeding habitat for the golden oriole, especially during the birds' breeding season from 1 April to 31 July. A minimum 50 m horizontal and vertical distance also has to be kept from the L235 road that runs nearby. Hang-glider pilots get a separate briefing on the landing here, since it's described as a genuinely demanding approach for that type of aircraft.
