Vor der Wesenbach

Vor der Wesenbach is a flying site in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at about 240 m, with a favorable wind from the southwest or west. It sits in an area with real ecological sensitivity: the site is closed to all flying from 1 March through 15 July every year, a window set to protect breeding birds during the season when they're most vulnerable to disturbance. Outside that closure, pilots are still expected to fly in a way that avoids disturbing local bird species, which in practice means avoiding low flying over the area. The takeoff and staging area itself is meant to stay as small as possible, and the protected habitat structures bordering it — along with the animal species living in them — must not be disturbed by flying activity.
