Reichenbach

Reichenbach is a German winch and flatland paragliding site at about 660 m, with a wide open wind window covering north, northeast, south, southwest, west and northwest — the kind of flexibility that makes a flatland winch field useful on days when a mountain launch would be facing the wrong way entirely. As a towing site it's built around repeated short flights rather than long mountain descents, which suits pilots working on currency or basic airtime rather than XC distance. There's a real seasonal restriction to know before you plan a visit: a no-fly zone protects nesting black storks here, and it's strictly enforced from 1 March through 31 August every year. Outside that window, the main towing activity is expected to shift to late summer, clear of the core breeding period. Plan trips for autumn or winter if you want the site reliably open, and don't assume a spring visit will be flyable.
