Schleppgelände Häsen SW

Häsen SW is the southwest-facing counterpart to the Häsen winch-tow field northeast of Berlin, sitting at the same modest 62 m but used when the wind favors the opposite direction. Like its partner site, this is farmland pressed into service for towing rather than a dedicated airfield, and the operators keep a tight lid on activity: flying is capped at 10 days a year, no more than 15 pilots on any day the site runs, with both the tow line and landing spot confined to agricultural ground. A European bird protection area lies a few kilometers away to the west, south and east, and the breeding season (28 February to 15 September) brings an added rule against overflying the nests of sensitive large birds such as white stork and osprey. New pilots are briefed on all of this, and flights are logged rather than flown informally.
