Schleppstrecke Linde W – O

Schleppstrecke Linde W–O is another of the four winch-tow routes at this site near Berlin, run across the same stretch of agricultural land that has to stay low-growing for towing to work. As with the other Linde routes, access is tightly capped — no more than 10 pilots a day, and flying is limited to just 20 days a year. The European bird sanctuary 'Obere Havelniederung', roughly 1.5–2 km to the north and southeast, must never be overflown, and through the breeding season, 28 February to 15 September, the nests of sensitive large birds such as white stork and osprey are also off-limits. Every pilot gets a briefing from the site operator on the local particulars and nature-conservation conditions before their first flight, and a flight log records each pilot's name, date, time, aircraft and flight duration. Cross-country flights are additionally mapped on current aerial imagery with GPS points, and the operator submits that documentation to the DHV and the state environment agency every year by 31 December.
