Mundug

Mundug is a high-altitude thermal, cross-country and hike-and-fly site in Ecuador's central highlands, near Patate and San Jorge, launching at about 2,865 m in south wind. Conditions here are predominantly thermic, which suits the site's cross-country potential well. The launch itself is a genuine asset: a large, clear natural grass slope of about 1,500 square metres with an ideal gradient for laying out and getting airborne cleanly. Access is straightforward too — from the Patate–San Jorge road, a third-order track branches off about 2 km to the left, passable by any type of vehicle rather than requiring a 4x4. Between the size and quality of the launch and the easy access, Mundug is a comfortable, welcoming site for a thermal or cross-country day at altitude in the Ecuadorian Andes.

From the Patate–San Jorge road, a third-order track branches off about 2 km to the left and is passable by any type of vehicle.
