Where it is
Castejón de Sos is widely known as the mecca of paragliding in Spain, and Liri is its main launch, sitting high in the Pyrenees at around 2,325 m. Local paragliding shops in town run taxi services up to launch for around €10; driving up yourself is possible on the 4x4 track but not really recommended. Getting to Castejón de Sos itself is easy by car, or by the daily bus service from Barbastro, which also connects onward to Huesca and Barcelona. As a high-mountain site, the weather can change fast — keep an eye on cloud development through the day, and it's worth keeping your radio on the local schools' frequency, since they regularly report current conditions. Wind here comes from the south through west. Landing is either on the airstrip or in a field next to the cemetery, which tends to have better wind conditions and sits closer to the village itself.
