Mont – Saint – Père

Mont-Saint-Père is a small French Champagne-region site above vineyards in the Marne valley near Château-Thierry — plenty of launch space but a technical landing situation. The 'carrés' track and the triangular 150 parcel are open to traffic and can only be considered emergency landings, not primary. This is a small site for experienced pilots — the constraint is landing, not launching. Flight above the vines makes top-landing at the takeoff essential in most conditions.

Getting there & local rules

Site is very visible when coming from Château-Thierry. In Mont-Saint-Père, turn left. At the fork, go right onto rue du Val, then first right, then left. Park at the end of the road without blocking traffic (do not use the tracks). Or from the church (highest point in town), stay on the road that runs along the top of the hill westward until you reach a dirt road; park along the house called 'le chalet' — 5 min walk on the central track (3 tracks; central is the correct one) to takeoff. Landing: on a fairly wide dirt track down through the vines — technically demanding; the track is oriented east, so sometimes you land with crosswind between vines on both sides.

Flying above vineyards means the 'chemin des carrés' track and the triangular '150' parcel are open to traffic and can ONLY be considered emergency landings, not primary. Top-landing at takeoff is required as the standard option.
