Farshid – 3 Eagle Fly

Farshid 3 (Eagle Fly) is a large, high plateau launch on the western Zagros south-west of Isfahan — the third site named by Iranian pilot Farshid Torkamanzadeh in this range. At 2,570 m it offers a big easy launch area for both paragliders and paramotors, and beginners can safely launch here from a specific point. It is considered excellent for professional practice as well, with autumn and summer the best seasons and spring described locally as exceptional. Come with a local pilot on your first visit — the site is remote and easy to underestimate.

Launch & conditions

One large paraglider launch area, easy takeoffs. Beginner launch position at 2,570 m. Separate paramotor takeoff on a big horizontal area at ~2,550 m.

Getting there & local rules

Step 1: Esfahan (Isfahan) to Zarin Shahr by car or taxi. Step 2: Zarin Shahr to Borujen; about 20 m before the Fajr tunnel a path opens on the right — after 1 km you'll see the site with two radio towers. Roughly 35–40 minutes. Landings: best is the path near the mining quarry (~1.7 km from takeoff, ~2,263 m). For an XC of more than 3 km, a landing area is available near the Borujen road (~3 km from takeoff, ~2,318 m). Novice and intermediate pilots can also top-land easily.

Local rules & hazards

Remote and easy to underestimate — treat launch seriously and take off promptly (the runway ends in a row of rocks). Fly with a local pilot on your first visit.
