Where it is

ThermalsSoaringCross-countryHike & fly

Shohadaye Nourabad is considered safe for pilots of any level, launching from 1,247 m near the city of Nourabad in Iran's Fars province, just off the Shiraz–Ahvaz road. A road runs all the way from the base to the summit, and the easiest way to fly here is to drive up yourself or hire a car with a driver for the day — that way the same vehicle handles the trip up, the landing pickup, and the return. There's no fixed rulebook, but pilots check in with the site marshal before taking off, who coordinates flights and passes along any rules that apply that day. Conditions are good most of the year, though summer temperatures can climb to around 45°C, making spring and autumn the best general flying season, while spring through summer suits cross-country flights best.
