Monte Farno

Monte Farno is the go-to backup site when strong northerly winds are blowing through the wider area — at nearby Monte Cornizzolo, that same north wind comes in from behind the takeoff and makes flying there a non-starter, which is exactly when local pilots redirect here instead. Launching from 1,174 m in the Val Gandino area of Bergamo province, the site faces south-east, south and south-west, so it catches wind from the opposite side of the compass to Cornizzolo — a genuinely useful pairing for pilots who track conditions across both sites rather than committing to just one.
