Where it is
Kruševo, in North Macedonia, is regarded as one of the country's best cross-country sites — flyable from morning to night through the whole summer, with a cloudbase running 2,500 to 4,000 m ASL and a season that stretches from March until the first snow. It's considered suitable for all abilities, with no fees and effectively no red tape. Launch is 4 km from the town at around 1,470 m, a large, grassy, easy-access takeoff right beside the road. Getting there means flying into Skopje, the capital, then driving about 1.5 hours to Kruševo — taxis run expensive, so arranging transport with local pilots in advance is the normal approach, and weekend trips up from town are common. The ceiling is 3,000 m ASL within about 10 km of takeoff. Strong north winds can turn the air turbulent, and when that happens, the usual move is to head into the valley to a hill called Ribnik, which soars well from every direction. Landing is wide open across the surrounding flatlands — just avoid planted fields and crops — though a dedicated driver for pickups matters more than almost anywhere else, since public transport is slow, scarce, and doesn't reach the launch at all. With a driver on hand, five or more flights in a day is realistic; the local record stands at eleven takeoffs in one day.

Before heading to Krusevo, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch.
