Where it is
Gozd takes its name from the small village at the foot of Kriška gora in Slovenia, where the launch sits on the southern side of the hill — which means driving around rather than straight up to reach it. The approach from the landing field is straightforward if you can find a local willing to give you a lift up; otherwise, drive toward Senično, turn off at the signposted junction for Gozd, and follow the road roughly 10-15 minutes until the village comes into view, marked by a restaurant of the same name and a small cable railway. From there it's another short drive to parking, then a footpath leads up past a tall radio antenna and a log cabin to the takeoff itself. Landing is down in Senično, sharing the same field used for the nearby Kriška gora site — reached via Golnik, with a couple of turns onto a macadam road that ends at a windsock marking the spot.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Gozd, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Gozd with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
