Where it is
Petite Neigette is a Quebec site with a natural, steep NW-facing launch at 300 m AGL (720 ft) — no obvious clearing, but a proper takeoff area for up to 8 wings once you're on it. The carry from the parking is just 2 minutes. Access to the top is 4x4-only via a barrier that requires the key, or a 2 km walk from the parking at the Neigette falls. There is a windsock at launch. Landing is a large grassy field at the base near a covered bridge.
Launch & conditions
Steep natural NW-facing slope at 300 m (720 ft) AGL — not obvious from the road but a proper 8-wing setup area. Windsock at launch. 2-min carry from the parking. Orientation 330°.
Getting there & local rules
4x4 only up the mountain road (barrier requires the key) or walk the National path from the parking at the Neigette falls (~2 km, uphill on the lime-furnace road). Landing: large grassy field at the base near the covered bridge — access via the road along the foot of the mountain. Park along the roadside, watching for cropland.
Local rules & hazards
Avoid launching in strong NE or SW winds — both are known to produce strong turbulence here. Site is under AQVL/ACVL club rules.
Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Petite neigette, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Petite neigette with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.

Flyable days by month
A day counts as flyable when the surface wind held in your range, from a direction the site flies, with no rain, for at least 2 hours in a row (08:00–20:00) — from hourly 10 m wind over the last 12 months. A seasonal wind guide only: it can't judge gusts, thermals or turbulence, and never replaces the live forecast, airspace checks and your own judgement.
