Where it is
Brigels is a high alpine launch in the Grisons region of Switzerland, sitting at just over 2,170 m with a wide south-facing window that opens from southeast through south to southwest. Reached by chairlift from the village, it's a proper big-mountain site with plenty of vertical to work, and the southerly aspect makes it a solid choice on days when the wind has swung into that quadrant. The area holds several designated wildlife protection zones, so route your flight to respect them rather than cutting corners for a better line. Föhn is a serious factor at this altitude and in this terrain — when it's blowing, conditions can deteriorate fast, and the safe call is to wait it out on the ground rather than launch into it. As with most high Swiss sites, checking current airspace restrictions before flying is standard practice here, not an afterthought.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Brigels, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Brigels with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
