Where it is
Herlisberg is a Swiss soaring and flatland site at about 711 m, best flown in a Bise (north wind) of 18–20 km/h straight on the nose. The take-off is a very large grassy field, and top-landing is possible right there too. The farmer who owns the field is genuinely welcoming to paraglider pilots, and in return asks for a small fee — 5 CHF for the day, or a yearly rate — whenever you fly here. Parking at the nearby restaurant is tolerated, but pilots are expected to at least stop in for a coffee to keep that privilege going. Cross-country flights are possible from here, but only for pilots who know the local airspace rules well: flying behind the road west of launch is not allowed without radio contact with Beromünster airfield.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Herlisberg, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Herlisberg with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
