Where it is
Risaralda's Reyes de la Colina site sits at about 1,844 meters in Colombia's coffee-growing region, and it's built around two separate launches depending on which way the wind is blowing. When the wind comes from the NE-SE arc, you launch from a large meadow with plenty of room; when it swings around to SW-W, the alternative launch is much smaller and only fits one glider setting up at a time, so plan your timing if you're flying with a group. Getting there, a regular car can reach a marked parking point, from which it's a steep hike up to takeoff — or you can drive a 4x4 the rest of the way if you have one. The landing zone is a high-grass field, and pilots should scout it before committing to fly, since fences and power lines sit close by and aren't obvious from altitude on approach. With wind directions covering nearly every quadrant between the two launches, this is a site that can work across a range of conditions, but the split-launch layout means checking which one is active before you drive up.
