Zlatnik is a Czech forest-and-meadow site between the towns of Most and Bílina, with a compact trapezoid-shaped launch facing roughly 200° (usable from 180° to 240°). The 446 m take-off holds two paragliders at once: one at the top for laying out and checking, another below preparing to launch. Western winds work best. One rule is not negotiable: every pilot must call Most airport ATC before travelling to Zlatnik — the airport controls the airspace up to FL095 (2,900 m) and PG activity needs a traffic clearance. Contact Mr. Václav Pecka (+420 606 659 775) the same day, tell him your planned take-off window and the number of pilots in your group. This is a natural reserve — respectful behaviour toward the land and toward hunters you may encounter is part of the pilot's job here.

Launch & conditions

Take-off is trapezoid-shaped with room for two paragliders — one on top for setup, one below for pre-launch. Direction 200° is central, 180°–240° workable. Western wind directions preferred. Landing is a huge meadow with no obstacles; a gentle slope drops northwest toward the road. The site currently has no permanent windsock — bring your own and place it between the cemetery and the barn ruins on the landing meadow.

Getting there & local rules

Take Road 13 between Most and Bílina. Exit toward Patokryje, but continue on Road 13 toward Ústí or Bílina — roughly 10 m before the entrance connects with Road 13, a right turn onto a bumpy asphalt road leads to a large parking area in front of the cemetery, next to the landing meadow. The hike to launch is steep and tiring for untrained pilots, especially on hot summer days: bring at least 1.5 litres of water. The forest path can be dense — long sleeves, long trousers and a hat cover ticks and scratches on the walk up.

Check conditions before you fly

A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Zlatnik, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Zlatnik with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.

A day counts as flyable when the wind held in your range, from a direction the site flies, for at least 2 hours in a row (10:00–19:00) — from hourly wind at this site's launch altitude over the last 12 months. Wind only, a seasonal guide; never a substitute for the live forecast, airspace checks and your own judgement.
