Flugplatz Waren – Vielist

Flugplatz Waren – Vielist is a flatland winch site in Germany at 86 m, about 2.7 km north of Waren, launching in north, east, south or west wind. It's a working general-aviation airfield rather than a dedicated flying hill — aircraft up to 5.7 tonnes, helicopters, motor gliders, sailplanes, microlights, skydivers and model aircraft all share the field, alongside the hang glider and paraglider winch that's been operated there since July 2010. Because of that mixed traffic, every pilot needs a briefing on airfield operations before flying, and radios are welcomed even for hang gliders and paragliders. Driving straight across the field is never allowed — first check where the winch and assembly area are, and if nothing's set up, nobody's there yet. Once the launch is visible, approach along the fence line from either the east or west side, and never cross the grass runway without the flight director's permission.
