Where it is
Gänsberg West is a German launch at about 340 m, best flown on a westerly wind, near the connecting road between Euerdorf and Ramsthal. Every pilot must be briefed by the site holder — or someone the site holder has delegated — on the terrain's specifics before their very first launch here. The Euerdorf–Ramsthal road has to be overflown with at least 50 m of vertical and horizontal clearance. Launches need a headwind component of at least 10 km/h; the site simply isn't set up for zero-wind starts, since there isn't enough launch run available for that. Altitude-training flights are only permitted with radio contact and an instructor directly supervising from launch.
