Kahle Pön / Düdinghausen

Kahle Pön / Düdinghausen is a flat, technical launch in the Sauerland at around 740 m, open only to briefed club members holding a B-license and real flying experience — it's explicitly not a beginner's site. The approach to takeoff needs a solid technique, since trees stand just ahead of the launch and pilots have to be certain they can clear them with enough height before committing; conditions are checked carefully first, and launches in doubtful wind, such as southwest, don't go ahead. Tandem (two-seat) launches aren't permitted here at all, and training flights are ruled out too. Getting vehicle access to the launch needs forestry-authority permission, and there are no exceptions for guests — the site is club members only. Pilots must also give the farm off to one side a wide berth, respect the marked no-landing meadows, and close the gate at the launch straight after passing through so grazing animals can't get out. In flight, a minimum safety height of 50 m is required over the K53 road.
