Schleppgelände Muni

Muni is a flatland winch-launch site in central Germany, built around a step-tow procedure that takes pilots up to about 450 m above the ground — no ridge, no thermal-triggering slope, just a cable and a clear field. Winching only happens over recently harvested land, with at least 100 m of clear space on either side of the tow path, and every path crossing that line gets secured before a session starts so nobody wanders into it. Only a specific set of plots may be overflown with the tow line attached, and that's by explicit landowner agreement — flying beyond those boundaries under tow isn't allowed. Pilot, winch operator and launch marshal all watch the tow path and airspace together, staying in constant radio contact, and an altimeter is standard kit for judging release height. It's a disciplined, procedure-heavy site rather than a casual hill, and winch-launch training runs here too.
