Where it is
Aguilón, near San Juan de los Terreros on Spain's southeastern coast, has a strong local reputation — some consider it among the best paragliding spots in the area, with reliably strong thermals and good climbs over big, open fields in genuinely scenic surroundings. Launch is small and clean, up in the hills; some pilots leave a section of green tarp there to protect gliders while they're laid out. To find it, head from San Juan de los Terreros toward Los Jurados and then on towards the golf course — just before reaching the golf course, there's an abandoned building, and parking is behind it. Wind works from northeast through east to southeast. In summer, conditions build hard fast, so an early flight can mean flying into rough thermals rather than avoiding them — plan accordingly. Landing has plenty of good, safe options around the site, and the beach is the best call when conditions get strong. The one rule that matters here: never land on the golf course grass, since the club doesn't allow it.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Aguilon, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Aguilon with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
