Where it is
Algodonales is one of southern Spain's classic flying areas, in the hills above Cádiz province, and the Levante launch — a huge takeoff with astro-turf matting on the main run — is genuinely excellent for pilots of all levels, working with wind from east through south. The one real exception is summer: thermals turn too strong to be comfortable, and temperatures can climb past 45°C, which is also why the site empties out during those months even though it stays technically flyable. Reaching launch means leaving Algodonales on the A-384 toward the A-8126 and onto the CA-9101, with the last stretch unpaved but manageable in any regular car; hiking up is also a common and popular option. The main Levante landing sits about 400 m below launch. A well-known local fixture, Pepe's Bar, tends to relocate to wherever pilots are actually landing that day, offering simple refreshments and a social gathering point after flying — a nice way to meet the local crowd.
