Coll de Lilla

Coll de Lilla launches from around 748 m in Catalonia's Tarragona province, and comes alive with wind from the north through northwest — conditions that show up mainly in winter, autumn and spring. Good dynamic lift and solid thermals are part of the appeal, but the site's real reputation is as a launch point for serious cross-country flying: a wind confluence from north and south here opens up a corridor that lets pilots fly all the way from Vall to Berga, roughly 100 km away. Reaching launch means driving the C-14 from Reus, or from Vall towards Coll de Lilla, through the small and scenic village of Miramar, then following the road to where it ends, turning right and climbing a concrete track up to a set of antennas. Park there and walk the trail along the left side of the antennas to reach takeoff. The wind here is a real factor to respect — conditions can turn from manageable to too strong within minutes, so keep a close eye on the forecast rather than trusting what you see on the ground. Landing options are spread across several camping areas below launch; most pilots use the one next to a small house, where parking is also available.
