Where it is
Castillonroi is a thermal soaring site above the village of the same name, straddling the historic border between Catalonia and Aragon in northeastern Spain. Launch sits at 658 m and works on south and southwest wind. The takeoff is reached by the road linking Baldellou and Castillonroy, off the N-230, and it's accessible by car right up to launch. Landing is just below takeoff, in a spot pilots also use as a starting point for flights heading east or northeast away from the ridge. The village itself has the basics covered for a flying trip — places to eat and drink, somewhere to wash up, and a small hostel to stay the night. Detailed reports on this site are thin, so it's worth checking current local conditions and access before heading out, especially if you're not already familiar with the area.
Getting there & local rules

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Castillonroi, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Castillonroi with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
