Where it is

ThermalsSoaringCross-country

Eulate launches from around 952 m in Navarra, Spain, facing south, and is compact but generous enough to lay out even a large tandem wing — the ground is cleared of vegetation and stones, and getting airborne here is straightforward. The site takes its name from the nearby town, which also gives directions their reference point. You can drive almost all the way to launch: take the mountain pass road up to the top, and it's only about 50 m on foot from where you can park to the takeoff itself. Wind here comes from the southeast and south.

Check conditions before you fly

A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Eulate, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Eulate with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
