Where it is
Cavallaria is a Canavese classic in Piedmont — an Ivrea-area club site with three main launches: Cima Cavallaria (1,430 m) and Manifestazione (1,390 m), both shuttle-access only (unauthorised road use draws fines of 230 EUR and up), plus Felci. It's a productive XC base with a big LZ and a lively bar for post-flight beers. About 40 km from Torino and Aosta CTRs but with the Montalto Dora Ivrea gliders/ultralight field close by — respect the VFR protocol.

Three main launches: Cima Cavallaria (1,430 m), Manifestazione (1,390 m) and Felci. IMPORTANT: Cima Cavallaria and Manifestazione are shuttle-access ONLY — unauthorised road use draws 230 EUR+ fines.
Getting there & local rules
A5 (Torino–Aosta) → exit Ivrea, then 4 km following signs to Fiorano–Lessolo–Calea. Landings: huge LZ with windsock; a bar on the LZ serves cold beer and sandwiches after your flight.
Local rules & hazards
40 km from Torino and Aosta CTRs — comfortable distance but Montalto Dora Ivrea glider/ultralight field (45.29.21N 07.50.30E) is close: follow VFR protocol. Overflying the prison EAST of Ivrea (45°28.298'N 007°54.849'E) is STRICTLY PROHIBITED — heavy fines or worse. Watch Nordföhn: wind on Cima Cavallaria and Manifestazione can become very strong 12:00–16:00 — wait, or shift to Manifestazione.
