Where it is
Son Tra Peninsula launches at about 573 m near Da Nang, Vietnam, with takeoff possible facing east or south. The launch area was renovated and cleared with support from Da Nang City, and a newly completed asphalt road makes it easy to reach by motorcycle or car. Landing is at Tho Quang beach, about 2.5 km below takeoff - a long sand beach with plenty of room for a safe approach. Wind directions from east through south-east, south and south-west all work here, and it's flown for thermalling, ridge soaring, hike-and-fly and flatland flying. A restricted airspace zone sits nearby, capped at 1,500 m and active around the clock, so check current airspace boundaries before planning any flight that might drift toward it.
