Schattberg (Hinterglemm)

Schattberg above Hinterglemm launches at 2,069 m from beside the Westgipfelhütte, reached by taking the Westgipfel gondola up the mountain. As you step off the gondola, the hut is visible straight ahead, and the takeoff sits just to its right — look for the paragliding sign marking the spot. Wind here comes from a wide range of directions, from north through northeast, south, southwest, west and northwest, giving decent flexibility across a flying day, and the site is popular for thermal and cross-country flying as well as for hikers reaching the summit. Landing is in a large field to the east of Hinterglemm.
