Where it is
Davos–Schatzalp is a launch above Davos in the Graubünden Alps, Switzerland, reached by taking the train up to Schatzalp and following the signed route toward Strelaalp — the takeoff sits just above the restaurant there, near a distinctive white house that makes it easy to spot on the way up. At just under 2,000 m the site is genuinely alpine, and it works well as a thermal hill, with the takeoff open to easterly, southeasterly and southerly winds. One landing-zone note matters here: the lakeside Seewiese field is currently marked closed, so pilots need an alternative landing lined up rather than assuming the classic spot is still usable. Swiss airspace around Davos is layered like most Alpine terrain, so checking current restrictions before flying is worth the extra few minutes it takes.
