Where it is
Razo is a coastal soaring site in Galicia, northwest Spain, launching from just 30 m and working north, northeast and northwest wind right off the coastal ridge above Razo beach. It's a straightforward, low-altitude site rather than a mountain launch — the kind of place suited to short soaring sessions along the dune and cliff line rather than long cross-country days. Access is easy from either of Galicia's main cities: about 40 km from A Coruña via the AG-55 to Carballo and on toward Razo beach, or roughly 55 km from Santiago de Compostela via the AC-1914 toward Carballo and then Razo beach. Landing is flexible — pilots can either top-land back at the takeoff itself or come down directly on the beach below, which keeps things simple on days when the wind holds steady along the coast.

Check conditions before you fly
A forecast for the valley is not a forecast for the launch. Before heading to Razo, read the wind and thermals for the site itself, confirm the day's rules with the local club, and remember the standing rule — when in doubt, don't launch. In the free OutDare app you can open Razo with a 7-day forecast built from high-resolution weather models, see who else has been flying, and get there with offline maps.
