Luson / Luesen /Lüsen

Luson (Lüsen) launches from 1,625 m in South Tyrol, with takeoff just 50 m behind the Tulperhof hotel — about as short a walk from the car as Alpine launches get. Flyable directions run south-east, south and south-west, and the site supports thermal flying, cross-country routes and hike-and-fly outings depending on how a pilot wants to spend the day. Access by road is straightforward: about 25 minutes' drive from the A22/E45 motorway (the Brenner Autostrada), and roughly an hour from Austria's Stubaital for pilots crossing the border to fly here. It's a convenient, low-fuss site to add to a South Tyrol flying trip — close enough to the main Alpine crossing to fit into a day that also covers other launches in the area.
