Plose

Plose rises to 2,015 m above Brixen (Bressanone) in South Tyrol, launching into a wide wind window that covers south-east, south, south-west, west and north-west. Getting to the top is straightforward: from Brixen, it's a drive or bus ride followed by a gondola up the mountain, so there's no hike required to reach launch. The landing field is known as Elefant, and pilots should keep two things in mind on the way down: strong valley winds are possible, so the final approach can turn more demanding than the wide-open mountain views suggest, and landing anywhere near the gondola station itself is off-limits — give that area a clear berth and use the designated field instead. It's a well-serviced Alpine site overall, with lift access doing most of the work of getting pilots to a genuinely big flying area.
