Where it is
Dolada, above Pieve d'Alpago in Veneto's Belluno province, launches from 1,494 m on a steep grass slope that usually faces you square into the wind — a genuinely popular cross-country jumping-off point, with the out-and-back run to Feltre and home again being the classic local flight. Flyable directions are south and south-west. Getting to launch is easy to navigate: signs point the way from Pieve d'Alpago itself, and there's parking about 100 m from the takeoff, so the approach on foot is short. The one airspace note worth knowing before you fly cross-country from here: there's a small airport near Belluno, and the guidance is not to cross the main road heading south of it — worth building into your route planning rather than discovering mid-flight. Landing is at Garna, where the wind is known to shift direction fairly often; it isn't described as dangerous, just something that rewards staying alert on final approach rather than flying it on autopilot.
